Mildred, “Carol” (nee Tiernan) 74, a long time resident of Rutherford, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2012 surrounded by her family.
Carol was a past president of the PTA for Saint Mary’s High School, den mother of The Boy Scout Troop in Rutherford, and an active member and volunteer at the Kip Center and the Rutherford Community Food Pantry. Before retiring in 1997, she was employed as the Admission Specialist at Farleigh Dickenson University, Rutherford campus.
The one thing that brought Carol the most joy in her life was being a grandmother to ten beautiful grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Francis J. (2002). Carol is survived by her loving children, Michael Tormey and his wife Sandra, Patti Stuiso, James Tormey and his long time girlfriend Doris Marx, Kevin Tormey and his wife Joanne, Kathleen Serrao and her husband Joseph, Daniel Tormey and his wife Melanie, and her grandchildren, Joey, Nicole, Brittany, Kelly, Quinn, Erin, Jenna, Shannon, Leigha and Cooper.

Michael J. 64,of Bloomfield formerly a resident of Rutherford NJ for 36 years, passed away April 17.
Michael was a graduate of Saint Mary’s High School and was inducted into St Mary’s Hall of fame.He attended St. Leo’s College in Florida but did not finish to become a United States Marine during the Viet Nam era. He was formerly employed with Fulton Fish Market for 30 years and later KNS Distributors in Clifton for 7 years. Michael was a big Philidelphia Eagles fan.
He was born in April 1948 in Passaic to his father, the late Thomas Mellody and is survived by his mother Catherine(nee Jacques). He will be missed by the love of his life Lorraine of 26 years,his cherished children; Patti, Michael and Katie, his sisters Patricia Davis, Nancy Mellody , his brother, the lateThomas.
Michael had many friends especially his life long friend Thomas Farrell along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Alice Schenk (nee Johansen) 83, a long time resident of Rutherford passed away peacefully on April 22, 2012 surrounded by her family.
Alice was a former member of the Rutherford Woman’s Club and the Polymathic Club of Rutherford and retired from Riggio Company as their Collection Manager in East Rutherford , 25 years ago.
She will be sadly missed by her husband John of 64 years, her cherished daughters; Laura TenEyck and her husband William , Carol Kuntz and her husband William and her beautiful grandchildren Miranda and Daniel along with her two brothers Richard Johansen, Walter Johansen and his wife Beverly.

Before retirement (2006), Edward was an Engineer for 53 years with PSE&G.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Edward was the President of the Babe Ruth League and an avid softball player.
Born in Jersey City, he lived for many years in Rutherford. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Hickey) Walsh. He will be missed by his growing family, his children; Edward W. Walsh, Michael Walsh and his wife Geralyn, William P. Walsh and his wife Maryclaire, Patricia Walsh , Kevin Walsh and his wife Michelle, James A. Walsh, Matthew Walsh and his wife Dawn and the late Paul Walsh. Heather Patricia, 13 of Rutherford, suddenly passed away at home on April 12, 2012 after courageously living with complex congenital heart disease.
Heather was an 8th grade student at Union School in Rutherford and was named Student of the Month for March 2012. She was looking forward to Spanish 2 in High School, receiving Confirmation and graduating with her class this June. She was a Girl Scout for 9 years going for the Silver Award and enjoyed sharing her knowledge with younger children. She loved the Yankees and Giants and was a huge NASCAR fan. She enjoyed watching the races with her family while cheering for her favorite race car driver, Jimmie Johnson #48. Heather cheered for RJF Jr. Football for 4 years and was looking forward to playing softball with her new teammates, the Lions. Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean and Country music were her favorites.
Heather was the treasured daughter of Philip and Mary Ellen (nee Zabady) Sartori and big sister of Jarett. The sweet granddaughter of Max Sartori and the late Milly Sartori and the late Albert and Patricia Zabady. Cherished niece of Mike Sartori and his wife Kathy, Steven Sartori and his wife Daren, Albert Zabady, Jr. and his wife Cynthia and Margaret Van Derlyn. She loved being with her cousins; Bryan , Lauryn and Max Sartori and Brian, Christopher and Allison Zabady. Her favorite cousin was Sharon Van Derlyn. She was a special great niece to Katy and Al Prais and their sons; Christopher and Conrad and great niece to Jeanne Zabady. She will be missed by her kitty cats Mookie and Tony, and Bubbles.

Michael Beauregard, 88, of Rutherford, Captain (retired) United States Coast Guard, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2012.
Michael was a devoted father and grandfather who loved fishing, hunting, sailing and bird watching. He was also a master craftsman in woodworking which he enjoyed with a passion.
Michael proudly served in the United States Coast Guard and retired in 1976 after 30 years of devoted service. His favorite command was as Captain of the USS Humboldt, a weather ship, because his crew was so devoted to him and the common cause of serving others to the best of their ability.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Laura (nee Rigoni). He leaves behind his four children, Michael Jr., Mark and wife Susan, Lisa and husband Danny, and Scott and wife Erlinda, grandchildren: Kristina, Samantha, Daniel, Andrew, Samuel, Gabrielle, Vanessa and great grandchildren, Henry and Molly.

Mayurnik, John, 71, of Waldwick, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2012. John was born in Paterson on July 24, 1941 to John and Mary (nee Klimkovsky). He was a lifelong music teacher, including 28 years with the Rutherford Board of Education. He taught music until 2012, most recently in Upper Saddle River.
His other passions included flying and running. He was a private pilot and enjoyed flying out of Lincoln Park Airport. He also completed 5 NYC marathons.
John will be missed by his children, Kathryn and her husband Robert Sein, his former wife and friend Valerie Lempfert, his granddaughter Charlotte, his brother–in-law Arnie Barnes-Schwartz, his nieces Rebecca, Elisabeth and Shara, as well as countless other friends and family. He is predeceased by his sister Marion Barnes- Schwartz.
Family will receive friends and family Friday 2-4PM & 7-9:00PM with Wake Service 8:00PM in the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Avenue, Rutherford, NJ.

Newton V. ( Newt) 76,of Rutherford, passed away August 8, 2012.
Newton was a member of American Legion Post 109, Rutherford and the Rutherford High School Hall of Fame Committee. He retired in 1991 from the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for the Woodridge Post Office.
He enjoyed golfing and cooking and especially attending his grandchildren’s sporting, dancing and cheering events. His weakness was a Hershey Bar with Almonds.
Newt was born in 1935 in Hackensack to his parents, the late S. Newton and Jessie Walker (nee Gilbert). He is predeceased by his ex-wife Iris Lynn Blackinger (1993) and his wife Roberta Kelly (2012). He will be missed by his loving children; Scott Walker, Tracy Walker and wife Bonnie, Todd Walker and wife Linda and Colleen (Walker) Miller. His sisters Joan Schultz of Cranford, NJ, Marjorie Wood of The Villages, Florida, his brother Dewitt Walker, East Rutherford. His grandchildren; Lyndsay, Sean, David, Caitlin, Sara, Emma, Hanna along with his step-children, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brother Stewart Walker.

Eleanor ,78 ,a long time resident of East Rutherford, died peacefully at Prospect Heights Care Center in Hackensack, on August 18th, 2012 . She was born in Jersey City and is predeceased by her parents, Paul and Ethel Keil (nee Gibson).
Eleanor was a graduate of New York University and was later employed as their Associate Director for the Office of Financial Aid. She was also an administrator for The James Gordon Bennett Memorial Scholarship Corporation and a former trustee of New Jersey Christian Ministries.
She was a faithful member of the Rutherford Bible Chapel, Rutherford, serving as a teacher and choir member.
Eleanor is survived by her loving cousins: Robert and Bessie Gibson of East Rutherford, Janice and Tom Meyer of Brick, Carol Wilusz of Allenhurst and numerous first and second cousins.
